So the temp is around 56F here, the house is 67F and im a little chilly. I mentioned to the better half that i was considering throwing a few chunks of poople in to take off the chill. She said she was too hot, ahhh you can never win!
Its june 23 and cold... hmm maybe a quick burn?

Ya, we keep getting these cool, rainy days here in June. I've had a couple short fires this month.
Yes, it looks lousy outside, except the neighbors kids are in shorts. Not going to happen. It is usually 80+ degrees and muggy around here this time of year. July 4th in a week, what gives? This weather is not conducive to good wood seasoning.
It's highs in the 80s here on the West coast. It finally warmed up after a very wet, cold start to June. Shorts weather.

51F this morning. Though in spite of the forecasts, it warmed up to the mid-60's. The house holds enough heat overnight that we can let the sun warm it up.
Eh 50* is barely sweat shirt weather. It's 51* here right now.

Crappy drizzly 50's yesterday. Once the house drops below 70 the wife complains so I gave in last night and had a small fire.

Yep, this was the 3rd fire in the new chimney and I can say the Supaflue is pretty super. Great draft so far with these usually sluggish draft outside temps. Definitely see a difference for the better compared to the old 5.5" uninsulated liner.
This cool spell is actually quite common. When our kids were still young (a long time ago...) we used to like to vacation at this time of the year and stay away until July 4. It was not uncommon for us to experience some serious cold at that time of the year. One year in particular, I could not take much time off work and my folks went ahead of us to grab a campsite. My wife picked me up around 4:00 on Friday night and we headed to our camp site near Lake Superior. We almost froze! We had a pop-up camper with no heat. We had planned for the boys to stay in the van but we ended up all sleeping in the camper. I got up early to start the lantern and make some coffee.....just to have a little heat in the camper. The outside temperature was in the mid 30's! That was on June 29 and 30.

Yep, I lit the stove off last night with a small fire, just to dry things out a bit.
51* this morning, heavy drizzle and rain. We had rain for at least three days. It is not cold but damp and raw. Yeah, I lit a small one to try out the new to me F-3. I had to crack open the windows after a while. That stove is better than I hoped for. I will be a toasty one this winter. I'd be happier with a cookout or an evening at the chiminea with neighbors and an adult beverage though.

June 25th - no more than 50F (10C) outside with a strong wind and rain. Lit the stove for an hour or so. I think this is the latest fire yet.
I dissembled my inside wood rack with the intent of painting the 2x4's and capping the tops, and reassembling it with a few nails this time (Stackit-Brackets). I'm thinking about moving that task to the front burner, as we've had chilly weather--usually corresponding with damp wood, as I have what's left stored under the deck.
I've got to admit, though, it's a pleasure to throw together a fire on a rainy day; it would hurt my feelings to have to crank on the thermostat and burn fossil fuel this time of the year.

Doesn't bother me but my boiler heats the domestic hot water as well so it doesn't cost much of anything to heat the house a little bit in the mornings. Last months gas bill was $28.
I've been burning on and off here and there with the damp, chilly weather . . . just small fires though with junk wood.

Not good for drying wood, but an excellent excuse to set fire to some junk wood in the stove for a couple of hours ;-)
