Any documentation or advice as to how to replace the top baffle. I have the replacement part but how do you open the top? How is the baffle removed and new one secured.
I’m fairly handy just need some high level guidance.

Good morning!

Others may have a higher level of guidance to share as they may have acquired some trick or shortcut during/after replacing parts on their stove.

I have completely disassembled two antique multi-plate coal stoves and reassembled them successfully, but they were not Jotul AND I’m not a professional.

The expanded view of your stove appears quite simple but it appears there are fasteners you’ll have to remove and hold on to. I would recommend cleaning the interior thoroughly so dropped fasteners can be easily found. I did NOT read the complete document, any of the notes, or warnings, BUT I would get some stove sealant with a fine application tip so I could apply sealant to any of the external stove plate edges/seams to ensure seal upon reassembly, and any gaskets if needed/required.

Im not sure if you’ve seen it, here is a link to a 118 here on Hearth
