Been trying to get an overnight burn. So, last night at 8:30 after my intial burn the stove is down to 225 I put a load of wood in. I load the stove completely noth south. I leave the damper open for about 15 minutes the stove get to about 350. In about 5 mintes I shut the primary air completely off. Fifteen minute late the stove is up to 600. Another 15 minutes and the stove is about 750. It looks like Dante's inferno in my stove ! I keep monitoring the stove till about 10:00. At 10:00 when I wnet to bed the stove was still at 750, most of the wood was burnt and the temp in my 12 by 16 kitchen was 99 degrees. Needless to say my wife was a little upset. Other than doing the dollar bill test on the door and the ash door is there anything else I should check. How do I know if the primary damper is working ? Closing it seems to have no effect. The stove is new, I've used it maybe 10 times this fall/winter. I bought the wood this fall it was suppose to be seasoned and all hard wood. There was no sign of water coming out of the wood as it ignited. Should I call the dealer ? I'm at a loss with this.
