Hi All,

I recently moved into a home with a series 8 TDC. Upon inspection I find the catalytic combustor is missing, I have the manual, however it doesn't have a parts layout (exploded diagram). It appears as if the combustor just rests in the rectangle opening above the bypass (see picture). Does anyone know if this assumption is correct, and also, is there anything else needed (gasket, retaining clip, etc). Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Parts and stuff for older Jotuls are available at Woodmans Associates.....
Also, for accurate combustor info try condar - http://www.condar.com
A combustor would not usually be above a bypass - that is, the smoke has to go through it when the bypass is closed.

I seem to remember that stove having a round combustor/////

Yea, i think so too. TDC's are rare animals. TDIC's are much more common.

Thanks, for the replies. I have sent a query to StoveCombustors, I'll let you know the results. Also the above picture, is from inside the top of the stove looking down with the bypass closed (facing stove front). The picture below is showing the bypass open (photo taken at same angle as before). This seems to be the only place to mount the cat.

Cheers,
