HI ALL..! Got my Regal Oak up and heating last night....Pictures coming soon.... One question I have is the check damper on top by the flue,,, what is it and how to adjust??...Thanks

According to this it sounds like it might be a built in flue damper of sorts?

(broken link removed)

Beside the pipe collar is a check damper which aids in controlling the fire.

It is a little slide that covers two small openings....I have closed and open it and took temp on the stack to see if it made a difference and it did not that much.....going to put a damper in tonight but i can only put it in about. 6inches Above that stove
