Hello long time reader first time poster. Need some help some time ago i found a thread that gave instructions on how to do a computer resetto my 5502m stove that wasnt listed in my manual. I cant seem to find it again. Its more than the "c1" reset.

Aux Up and Down Arrow at same time for about 3-5 secs. The board will read "BYE" and turn off. That's how you know it reset.

Thanks for the reply. That is the reset that is mentioned in the manual. However there is a "deeper" reset that is not mentioned in the manual that I had to do to it the last time it started doing this to me. I found the procedure doing a search but cant seem to find it again and I was stupid not to print it out at the time. It involved a different sequence of buttons than just the aux up and down reset.

There is another way to do the reset (C-1), but both ways are the same reset. There is only a factory reset. No deeper reset. It sets all the parameters back to the factory defaults. What are you trying to fix?

Well its not burning well and giving me the out of fuel error code. Flame is burning poorly and turning the glass black within an hour. The last time this happened I tried everything, cleaning, changing types of pellets looking for air leaks and doing the reset several times. I was about to give up and return the stove but after reading a post I found doing a search where the person was having similar problems they suggested doing a different type of reset and low and behold I tried it and it worked flawlessly for the last 4 months until the other day. It is now doing the same thing. Could you describe the other method of doing the reset just for grins. Thanks so much for being right on top of this thread. Andy

You can also try these fixes for the Er-2 message.

a) The Ash clean out are to loose and the screws must be tighter ( so look at tightening these screws )
b) Under the burn pot there is a Housing that the burn pot sets in. The screw may be loose allowing air to bypass the burn pot ( Check this screw and if this is loose make sure it is tightened)
