Haven't had a fire in over a month..

Been HOT here

I dunno summer seems to have come and gone a couple times here already, next few days mid 60's meybe for highs, 40's night, yep the stove gets lit again, more to drive the dampness out than for a lot of heat. 40 and damp(60% humidity) makes these old bone creak and rattle something fierce.

We'll be getting near freezing temps overnight starting Thurs., so there will be fire.
Just enough to take the chill off, but fire, nonetheless.
It's a bit late this year, but not totally unexpected.
69::F in the house right now, but feels cool, since it's been raining since Mon.......thinking about a fire....>>

The Doors just popped into my head.

Come on baby, late may fire....come on baby late may FI-RE.

You don't want to be in my head - scary place.

My head hurts from reading about controlled combustion and air intake valves.

Like PapaDave, we'll be burning yet too.

50s? Its 43 for a high here today. I have been burning again and have my winter gear on here today. I thought I shut the stove down for the 'summer'. Had 80 degree heat for the first half of May, The weather people said that the weather was going to be dry through the summer... now that is long gone. Snow level is coming down to 2500 ft. later today. Rain levels are all up. Drought is cancelled... summer is delayed... news at 11:00.

Yeah I see that.... snow mixed with rain today. I'm at about 2850. Fires the next few days with overnight lows below freezing tonight.

I ended up getting another 3 cords stacked last week in addition to the 3 seasoned cords I already had on hand. I used about 3/4 cord of wood and 1/2 a pallet of energy logs this last winter. I should be set for for a few winters now.

Only thing I am burning is electricity in the A/C. Heat index was 93 today with the high humidity. I have enough kilowatts cut, split and stacked so we should be OK.

A/C... is free here. Its 39 outside and less with wind chill and hard cold rain. I am having to crank up the fireplace to keep my place at 68. Burning the *very last* of my cottonwood. I will have to flip to Doug fir for more heat tonight. We are past shoulder season and into winter wood again. Frikkin' low pressure is parked over us now and it is supposed to be like this for another week. Is there such a thing as Indian Winter?

It looks like we have the same low sitting over us in se BC. Raining hard here (3800 ft) and was 7c most of the day and is now 5c. It will be cool weather for the next three days with a heavy rain warning and chances of wet snow in the Elk Valley. Burning some poplar right now but will put some larch in for bed time. My wood gathering yesterday was perfect planning! I didn't have to c,s,s in the rain and wind. Glad I held off planting the fragile plants in the garden!

That caught my eye to Jags. Did you hear that Ray Manzarek died the other day? I guess none of us are getting any younger. FYI not trying to get off topic here:(

I am half way through my last cord of green fir that I am splitting now, my last wood that I have to process. I abandoned the effort yesterday in the rain. Today, forget it. I flipped back to tiling my main bathroom floor. Lowest high on record today for this date in PDX of 50 F. I was 7 degrees below that for my high here today.

Dave says its supposed to be mild and on the 60s in Alaska tomorrow. Go figure... its up to a balmy 41 here now and raining small animals. I bet we have flood warnings around here by the end of the week.

We're not quite done yet. A couple of more fires to warm things up. 49 degrees right now and a couple of frost warnings for this weekend.

I thought for sure we were done but lower 40s are forecast for the next couple of nights.

Yep, 40's here tonight.... ( Ky ) don't know if I'll have to fire up the stove. Maybe to knock off the chill in the morning?

Well I thought it was gonna be a one day deal. But, the rain seems to have just parked over northwest Oregon.

It's dumping buckets at my place. Thank god for the new roof I just had put on!

Woke up to the house at 62 this morning, couldn't handle it and fired up the big stove...

Not just NW Oregon, this thing is dumping precip from BC to California.

Another 'moisture event'. I have had 4 inches of rain here in the past 3 days.

4 inches of snow here. I had to shake off the apple tree and others for fear of breakage. Warming up now so should go away soon........::-) Gives me a reason to use the stove and not the furnace over the next few days......

I'm done burning until Fall. I'll let the heat pump run if I need any heat. They're calling for low 40's here next few nights.

Yuppers, Just got the Fireview going,,, 48 degrees at 3 pm,,, crazy... 40's tonight and upper 30's for the next two nights,,, high of 55 tomorrow with rain and wind... plenty of wood so I'll burn until summer is really here;lol

It was in the upper 80’s here earlier this week, hot humid and disgusting. It was 66 this morning, 56 now raining and damp. I'm about to go close the windows and hunker down for the next few days. So much for the "unofficial start" of summer. It's going to be in the 60's during the day, 40’s at night. Happy memorial day to me, who thought I'd be lighting the stove this late?!?
