I have said this many times in various posts trying to ID Ash, and as Bucks County just found out it seems to hold true, so I wanted to make a post about it so all could see. If you notice on Ash look at the cutside of a round, the flat side, and if the wood is Ash you will see a small "pinhole" in the center, at least all the Ash I've ever seen has had it. This is an easy way to ID Ash and just wanted to share it with you guys. I have not come across any other species that has this pinhole, but if you know of one please let me know.
I hope this helps someone....

. I can never let ash sit for any time at all without splitting it because it's too fun to split

Now listen up class....look at this picture, go down to the bottom right of your screen and you see where it says 100%, click on that until it says 150%, click on the picture then look at this picture again and you will see what looks like a small "pinhole" on the flat cut-side of this round of Ash inside the rings-THAT'S what I'm talking about!! I don't see this on any other wood than Ash but if I'm wrong and you know of any I'd like to know! All the Ash that I've ever had has this pinhole on it.
