Looking at new free standing vented propane stove

As a backup heat source for power outages in Missouri, does 45 BTU per sq ft sound reasonable for a relatively tight house?
And are the Vermont Castings gas stoves any good? My wife likes the look, but I've seen a fair amount of negatives on their wood stoves...
Appreciate any guidance.

45 btu/sq ft should work well. Vermont Castings stoves are very well made & reliable.
