Lopi Leyden Combustor

I have owned and have been running my Leyden since 2008. After a bit of a learning curve, I have (mostly) enjoyed this stove. I am in the process of replacing the combustor pack and found the replacement one is 4-1/2” deep, the original one that I just removed is 4-1/4” deep. The new one does not allow the firebox back to rest in the correct position. Has anyone experienced or heard of this? The interior of the stove box is clean and nothing warped or out of square. I made sure that the new combustor is pushed all the way back into its correct position. I put the original back in and it fits perfectly.
I called Travis Ind. today, spoke to a tech. He asked me to call back on Monday after he has a chance to talk to another tech about this.
I am hoping that someone here can offer some help/advice.

I didn’t get much help from Travis Ind. on the fitment of the combustion pack for my Lopi Leyden. After comparing my existing pack to the replacement, I could see how the corners of the existing one were rounded. I used an emery board to remove a very small amount of material from the corners of the replacement combustion pack and after many “ test fits” it now fits perfectly.

This will be my last post on this topic. I replaced the combustion pack, all gaskets and adjusted the bypass damper.
The stove is running beautifully.
I learned a lot during this process. I now know what is behind the Firebox back where the combustion pack sits, a very simple stove.
All this will make it easier to clean and vacuum in the future.
Luckily I still have a few overnight temps in the low twenties to enjoy this stove for a few more days.

One more “last” post. I didn’t document the process (with pictures) of replacing the combustion pack in my Lopi Leyden but I do have a few.
1st pic shows the two side bricks, rear brick and combustion brick along with their brackets.
2nd pic shows the combustion pack still in place after the bricks and firebox back have been removed. The damper assembly is also still in place above and needs to be removed.
3rd pic shows the combustion pack, damper assembly and damper plate.
4th pic shows the spot where the combustion pack sits. (before being cleaned)
5th pic shows the the reassembly before putting the fire bricks in place.

If anyone is still operating one of these stoves and has a question about maintenance I would certainly pass on more detailed info. It is a simple stove, the damper assembly was a bit intimidating. After installing it three times it can now be done within 5 minutes, easier with two people. One needs to move the outside damper handle while the other gets the rod into place on the plate and bolts the assembly into place.

Question, I'm feeling worried about how my Lopi combustor replacement went. I'm wondering if the gasket that's on the combustion pack should be touching and filling the space like this against the back fire brick? For reference this stove is old and we got it with our house, I'm pretty sure my combustion pack was non existent upon replacement, so I have no reference to go off of. Picture is of it resembled at the end

First I have to compliment you on the clarity of your pictures, I can’t get the view that you have gotten. When I view your pictures am I seeing a part of the gasket that is attached to the combustor pack?
When I look at my combustor pack through the combustor brick, the gasket is not visible. There is a slight gap that is created by the thickness of the gasket.
