Has anyone tried using a Lux mechanical thermostat (Lowes) with a Englander 25-PDVC? It is supposed to work with most 24v millivolt systems. My stove is keeping my house at very comfortable temperature (72 degrees on setting 1) but on very cold or windy nights it drops down to about 65 degrees. I am thinking if this thermostat works some what decent and can hold the temperature during the night time hours I would give it a try. I know it can not shut the stove off and on when the temp gets higher than the lowest setting but what happens? I assume it will just stay on the lowest preset setting of 1. Also I read that the stove should be set to 9 for both air and feed, does a thermostat change the air or just the feed rate?
As I said I am very pleased with how the stove is keeping the house warm now so I don’t want to spend a bunch of money on a thermostat and I’m thing for the price this might be all I need to tweak my comfort zone.
Thanks
Frank
