The Kenmore gas grill we received as a wedding gift over 21 years ago has finally come to the end of its useful life. I looked around a bit and decided to buy a Masterbuilt Gravity series 800 charcoal smoker/grill/griddle. I set it up on Saturday, and overall was quite pleased with the build quality. Here you go. 😉
First one is the faithful old one. Next is Masterbuilt during setup, and next is finished product. I was impressed with how easy the directions were to follow during build, so the last one is an example of the directions.

This is my first foray into smoking. I wanted something that I could grill and smoke on, and didn’t want to spend the money on a Traeger partly because what if I don’t like to do it? Plus this one has the added bonus of the cast iron griddle, and you can also get a pizza oven to in them.

I haven’t tried that out yet. I know you can’t cold smoke with it, unless you use a smoke tube or some other method. I think the low setting is somewhere from 160-225, but I’ll update once I try it.
