Does anyone know if menards does a sale on class A chimney pipe or accessories any time soon? I remember them doing a sale in October just wondering if anyone remembers a sale say in December. Thanks!
I bought mine (18' of Selkirk double wall stainless) on sale there a few months ago. It was like $10 or $12 off the 3 foot size I think. My order came all dinged up so they sent me all new and told me to keep the first order. Ended up selling the first order on CL for a substantial discount.
The way to tell if 11% is coming back is to watch their ads. If ALL their current ads end on a Saturday, it's a good bet that 11% is coming on Sunday. They don't want 11% and sale ads to coincide. I was told this by a Menards manager, and it's proved correct every time I've paid attention.

Also, a lesser known way to save a bit of coin: Menards accepts competitor coupons. However, the pre-programmed SKU #'s they have in their binder for the more common coupons don't work on sale items. If you can find a coupon for $XX.XX off that is not in their binder they have to manually enter that coupon under an "open-SKU" so the computer system doesn't know to not allow it for sale items.
Example: Lowes occasionally sends out $10 off purchase of $50 or more. Do the math, that is equivalent to 20% off if you only buy the $50 minimum. You can take this coupon and buy 1 piece of stove-pipe at a time to get an extra $10 off (even if the pipe is already on sale).
Only thing I don't like is a lot of Menards sales are rebates - mostly for merchandise credits- which to me does not = a true sale price as you are paying full tilt up front waiting for rebate in the form of a merchandise credit which is only good at Menards. so where is the discounted sale price in that.

For somebody that shops a lot a menards IMHO it's no big deal... I get the free stuff and use the rebates to buy the next round of free stuff. For a little up-front out-of-pocket you then have "revolving" rebates... some are waiting while some are in your hand being used to buy the next round of stuff... Sometimes they have some stuff RIDICULOUSLY low priced or even free through rebates. They are counting on a number of people not sending the rebates in or redeeming them. That enables them to offer even better prices after the rebate.
It also enables them to better "restrict" the sales to a limited number of items. If a stores has a really good sale on something and says "limit 2 per customer" there is no way for them to effect that limit unless they recognize you as a person that has already bought 2 and they are willing to actually say something about it. But if it's in the form of a rebate that is sent to a physical address the only way you can get more than the limit is to have more than 1 address/name to use on the rebate form.
