Man... I asked Jay when it was over if his hearted skipped a beat when he saw it going toward the splitter. Man actually if that had been 2 feet either way the trunk may have gotten the splitter. Thanks Jay for finding the video.

I really dont think those small limbs would have done anything, but you never know I guess. I was not moving the splitter up that ice hill. I knew you where to high on the trunk with the wedge so MY BAD! If you have never had a close call your LYING! Or Not felling timber.

I'll never forget the time my dad dropped a maple (maybe 12" diam, but tall) right on the wood trailor. I'd offered to move the tractor, but he said naw, it'll clear it. Trailor was built like a $%^!house by him & a welder at work. Tree actually snapped on the side rail of the trailer and only damage was a dent in the steel capping the 3/4" plywood sidewall. Frame, axle...all totally fine. Made for easy bucking & loading!
That trailor is still hauling wood outta the bush maybe 20 years later.

Great piece of video. Thanks for posting. Like you said, anyone who hasn't had a close call......
I'm sure it will bring back memories to all of us who have done any felling. Had bought a flatbed trailer and built the sides and tailgate on it and had it maybe 2-3 months when I dropped a tree that twisted the wrong way and the trunk landed about 2 feet from the back of the trailer. I've had others but noting that close.
My neck hurts, wish I could help you with rotating the video. I'm sure someone can.

i was in the bush with a snowmobile and a sleigh, notched a 10 inch tree to fall on the trail , it rolled with crown weight and I laid the crown right in the sleigh. darn. it was only on it s 3rd load of wood
