Mn tree identity help….

Is this red mulberry? Tree was alive and we wanted this one down to clear space for stacking and drying more wood in the future. It looks like some sort of seed or fruit in my hand. Definitely a hardwood. Near the top the bark begins to peel away more

That doesn’t look like red mulberry. The wood should be really yellow when it’s freshly cut.

Thanks, I agree from my research and after splitting it, it was very white in color. Anyone else have an idea. I figured the dry fruit/poky things would be a huge clue to someone.

id say its either ash or gum .... if it turns out really stringy when ya split it then u should know u have gum

The splits look like Ash to me.
