Modify 25PDVC to have more efficient heat exchanger??

Anyone done this? My brother has a whitfield and it burns about a bag a day as well and the air that comes out of that thing is nearly so hot you can't keep your hand in front of it. I've got 3 of the 25pdvc stoves and really like them aside from the efficiency and the ignition system.
