Hello everyone!

I was looking for some opinions..... My wife and I are building a new house and a wood burning fireplace is a must have for me. The firebox has been installed and the gas fire starter has been installed. Our bank inspector- who was allegedly some sort of fire inspector-mentioned that gas fire starters aren't safe and should be avoided. I'm having trouble finding anything to confirm his opinion. There are no building codes that don't allow this setup. So, what say you?? Thanks!!
