Hi - I actually have 2 wood stoves in my mountain home, the Country Comfort CC185 made in 1992 and an older white enameled cooktop + oven style with wood loaded in the left side. I might stick around and get some info on the second one since there's no manufacturer info I can find. I'd like to replace the ceramic blocks inside if possible.

But my real problem is the Country Comfort stove. During the winter, it grew tough to open with the handle, like it wasn't unlocking well, and when I went to burn off some paper over the weekend, it (the door) simply wouldn't open at all. I used an Allen wrench to remove the handle and it doesn't appear to be damaged, and of course the door remained shut tight. The door hinges are pinned in and I'm not sure how I could get them out. Any ideas of what to try? I doubt I'm going to find a replacement handle on eBay, and it might not be the worn part.

Here is an old post. You might message the OP or try that contact info. Do you have the manual with the drawing/parts?
Have you tried to lift the door off? Perhaps it won't unless it's open? Catch 22

It's probably rusted shut. If so, a sharp rap on the handle axis may free it. Use a wood block in between to mitigate damage.
