Been awhile posting anything, been super busy this year working and raising kids. I have a buddy @ work that is installing a Osborn 2300 . It will be on a raised hearth almost 13 inches in height my question is how much hearth pad is required in front of the stove for protection. I looked @ the manual and was not to clear on the spec. I will be helping him build his setup and want to be right. The back wall where the stove will be installed will have veneer stone behind
It with a inch and half space between the standard wall. Thanks for any advice you could give me.

If it is a raised hearth, ember protection is usually enough to get the hearth to the minimum depth. If the manual is not clear on that give Osburn/SBI a call and best get it in writing especially if you need to have an inspection done. Check also with your local building inspector if a removable hearth extender is enough or it needs to be fixed in place.
