Never had so much wood/ The plan:

I've never had so much CSS wood.
After joining this site & burning 2 year+ seasoned dry wood,
I formed a plan to get ahead. (Burning dry wood is amazing)
I've almost reached the goal. 48' X 8' (5 rows deep) wood shed)
Next year it should be totally full of birch
12/13 wood: 5-1/2 cords (middle shed) might be a little short but the 13/14 wood can make it up if needed.
13/14 wood: 6-1/8 cords in the shed (left side)
14/15 wood: 7 cord. 5 in the shed, 2 in the seasoning stack
15/16 wood: 5 cord in the seasoning stack, (need 2 more to be done)
Then I only need to cut 7 cord of wood each year , to stay caught up.

Hey Dave, so if you get far enough ahead would you quit cutting? Would you skip that easy ( I know Alaska may not be) score? I doubt it! Personally I enjoy being outside and doing all the c/s/s. Your right tho, good dry seasoned wood is soooo much better to burn.
You've got a good plan with some of the nicest stacks on here, zap is in the running as well but zap has no moose antlers. Lol...

I see your one-wheeled dump truck there, never found one of them that fit my hands very well.

Just curious but how much of your 'free' time do you think you spend on your hobby / obsession . I think i am currently on a couple of hrs a day more at weekends but less in the week so average 2hrs.

Good plan, how may cords did you burn before you learned to season your wood proper? I only wish some of the people who poke fun at me for having 10+ cords stacked and being at least three years ahead could understand.

Dennis is still burning "antique" wood. (wood over 25 years CSS) LOL

What free time? Being retired, getting wood is one of my jobs now.
About 3 weeks to CSS the 6 - 7 cord stack out back seasoning.
Scrounges when they pop up. I'd guess 5 weeks +/- total this year.

9 - 10 cord, now drier wood & a catalytic wood stove 5-1/2 to 6-1/2 cord.

Don't expect those without the addiction to understand, we here know.
We see: hard work, good fun outdoor exercise, $$, BTUs, others just see a big pile of wood
Knowing with or without the grid or the oil companies, we'll keep our families warm

In a couple of months you will need to go through all of your stacks and pull out all the irregulars and uglies and replace them with perfectly straight and perfect length splits.....so you will have to make one more trip to the cutting fields to look for that one illusive perfect straight birch tree that you can cut and split for replacement purposes. That is a must for all serious wood stackers
