I was at Lowes last night and looked at a pellet stove they had on the floor. It appeared to be the smaller of the PDV. I opened the door and was amazed at the new burning plate design. I guessed the plate was the same but with some new holes in it. It had holes where the plate sits below the auger? Appears to be some type of R and D to help with the pellet build up. Anyone else notice this? Mike?

The holes were like half circles cut out on the back edge of the plate, if this clarifies.

Why does the burn pot plate angle toward the auger and not away from it?

I would think this is to keep the pellets close to the ignitor. Just my guess.
