We have just gotten a new England 25pvd pellet stove. We love it so far. I question though in the hopper we fill it and after several hours the pellets trickle down to the auger as it should and the heat is wonderful. It is when we are not home or at night th stove turns off when the pellets in the hopper trickle down into the auger and just leave a hole in the pile of pellets. Is this normal? Am I doing something wrong in the filling of the hopper? Any insight ito this is appreciated.

Lots of people either wax the sides of the hopper or better yet cover the sides with aluminum tape so the pellets slide down into the chute. A simple sanding improves it a lot.
