New porcelain finish for Alderlea Models

PE has introduced a new Antique White porcelain finish option for the Alderlea T4, T5 and T5 insert: Check out the texture:

It looks pretty nice. Craquelure has a long history in Chinese ceramics. It will be interesting to see how well this new finish sells.

Might be nice for a kitchen install... Some might also like the look for a modern home with white and neutral colors.

I think it will help get some more Alderleas in the living room where SWMBO rules. Now where is the blue-black enamel for the rest of us?

I am still waiting for a Chameleon paint job, stove changes color depending on the angle you look at it.

Jotul's blue-black enamel is kind of like that. It looks different depending on the light, going from a soft black to a dark blue-grey.

Have you heard anything about the changes being made to the baffle gaskets on the PE stoves? Just wondering what the
reasoning for the longer gasket would be....

Have you heard anything about the changes being made to the baffle gaskets on the PE stoves? Just wondering what the
reasoning for the longer gasket would be....

Nothing official from PE, but it seems to me the new gasket, which spans the width of the baffle, would distribute the baffle's weight over 20" instead of concentrating it on the 4" width of the old version, which would make the new gasket less prone to get squished.

Thanks for the response... Time will tell if it makes any difference in the durability of the gasket.
