I need some advise from the professionals on here. I have an Avalon arbor pellet stove 45,000 btu and live 30min from Canadian border in ny. The pellet stove does a good job at keeping our 1760square feet home warm in the cold climate most of the time. This stove is located in our living room. Open floor plan, two story home. The heat from the living makes the upstairs comfortable. This stove is just a hassle to clean all the time and it sucks when we lose power. We are going to switch to a wood stove in the spring. I have chosen 3 stoves that I think would work and need some input. The progress hybrid, fireview, ashford30. I like the idea of a long burn time and a good looking stove. Can the progress hybrid heat output be controlled to low btu output. I saw the ashford 30 has a max btu output of about 38000 but is rated for 1100-2400 square feet. What do you folks think?
