New XXV in Northern Wisconsin

Hello

Had a new Harman XXV installed last Monday. I live in Northern Wisconsin. I am wondering how many tons of pellets do you buy or burn in a season. This has been our coldest winter in a long time.

Heating area of about 1500 sq. ft. Running on room temp manual, feed rate 4. Room probe behind stove near return. Temp staying 71-72. Burning Uncle Jed's Will be performing first weekly cleaning today. Any advice appreciated. Thanks much This site is amazing and a wealth of information.

I usually buy 4 tons, and burn between 3 and 4 ton. I have a 1400 square foot ranch. Last year I burned 3, this year I'm on my 4th ton already. Depending on whether it warms up, I could get well into my 5th ton. Really depends on your insulation, and weather in your area. If you have the money, very good idea to buy your pellets in April so you don't have to go scrambling for pellets in the dead of winter.

Most hear average 3 to 4 tons maybe 5.Depending if your gnna run it constant. I turn my harman p35i off when the family is not home. Me and wife at wrk and daughter In school. Also with the shortage of pellets here In The northeast im turning her off before we got to bed . Then firing her up in the am.Get some pics

This is our second winter with a stove - we're just west of you in Minocqua. Last year we burned about 3 and a half tons; with the winter we've been having, just cracked 4 ton mark and will certainly burn through that before things warm up enough to turn stove off. Uncle Jed's are good pellets. We have also burned American Wood Fiber from Trig's (soft wood in the tan bag) and they are pretty similar heat-wise. Trig's gave me a 5% discount with buying 25 bags or more - if you end up buying a ton from Trig's, the AWF's end up a bit cheaper than Jed's.

It really depends on your home. As long as your house isn't made of Swiss cheese, the XXV will heat it. We heat a 1900 sq ft home with ours, and have burned 2 tons so far. But our house is newer and very tight. You will probably get answers all over the place. If your house is of average insulation, at 1500 sq ft, I would say around 4 tons.

That is a question I have been trying to solve. I have had my stove for a little under a month now. I am heating a 2 story 1800 sq ft home. I think my total for a winter like this would be around the 5 ton mark. My stove gets shut down for 3-4 hours a night. That is my best guess so far.

I am now saying we have three seasons June,July and winter. I don't think it will ever end.

In Appleton, I am on my 5th ton so far, might have to get one more. Normally I buy four and have some left over.

Usually buy 3 but almost never burn all. This season will burn 4. Heating approx 1100 sq ft decently insulated ranch in Massachusetts.

We burned 6 tons last year and are on target for that this year. We live 1/2 hour north of Green Bay and burn 24/7
