I figured there should be a cleanout in the basement underneath my Sierra Hearthstove. But there isn't.

Since I'm about to order the liner kit for my flue, I figured I should allow enough to reach down to the cleanout, so I went looking for it, since I never had before.

Is this a concern? Should there be a cleanout underneath? I'd like to be able to just stick my head in the flue and look down to see if it even runs to the basement, but I can't.

At the same time, if I just run the new liner down to a tee behind the stove, and clean out that tee after sweeping, am I still safe?

Hi Blue,
My liner goes down the chimney to a Tee and the stove connects to the Tee.. When sweeping the liner the soot falls into the tee and you just vacuum it out.. I think this is typical with most liners..
