A few weeks ago I got a message from my kindergarten teacher saying that she and her husband had several trees cut down and wanted to know if I wanted the pieces that were too large to fit in their small wood stove. They are both retired and have more firewood than they need right now. Thanks to help from a friend on a neighbor farm, I was able to score a large load of oak. We were able to load the wood using the front end loader on a small tractor and use the conveyor on the truck to unload it. That sure beat loading it by hand.
The large rounds in the front are from today's haul. The rounds and smaller pieces on the left were from last week. I had been working on the earlier wood since early last spring.
