Hi, we’ve been given an old Jotul 602 for use in a small cabin; I’m not sure which version it is? It has the circular door valve and has "7" on the baffle plate. I've seen references to 602, 602B, and 602C (older versions). Is the exact version important, especially given my next questions?

(1) Our existing chimney pipe has a 6" pipe opening. On the stove, the flue spigot ("outlet"?) opening measures ~ 4.5"; exterior measurements appear slightly broader at the base. I'm wondering if the "125mm to 6 in" Jotul 602 collar adapters I've been seeing online are what we need?

(2) We hope to use the top outlet instead of the back where the spigot currently is (if we can get the rusted screws loose), partly for clearance. Does that also improve draft?

Some pics included to help ID the stove and understand adapter needs. Sorry for my uncertainty with terms etc. and thanks so much for any help!

It's a 602 and looks to be in nice condition. How does it look inside in the firebox? Are the burnplates and baffle in good shape?

Yes, you will need the adapter to run it on a 6" flue. Don't worry about draft with the rear vent. This stove is not restrictive. We have run it on a 10' flue with the rear vent.
