Little back story, we went on vacation for 3 weeks, left the stove clean and ready to fire up upon our return. Since returning (to bitter cold temperatures) it has burning really dirty. Also not really putting out the heat like I fee like it should be. I even went ahead and used the leaf blower to clean it out. We had temps in the negative teens Saturday night and yesterday. The temp in the house was only 57 degrees. It couldn't get the temp up. My husband thinks that its just because we need new windows and the stove just can't keep up against those temps and winds. The burn pot is full and overflowing after just one day, like its not burning properly (that's what it looks like when it needs a good cleaning, but I just did that).
The ash in the burn pot has this blue green tint to it.
I am just checking to see if there is anything we might be missing????? I just feel like something isn't right.
Oh and we are burning all Gamers this season.

Oh and here is another thing. I just cleaned the glass when I dumped the pot etch and literally minutes later the top and sides of the glass are black.

Snow blocking OAK or vent? Exhaust fan not working? Mine just died recently and it burned real dirty while the pellets in the burn pot smoldered. did you leave the hopper full? could moisture gotten into the pellets?

You've got a blockage somewhere.

I wondered this?? I guess it is possible?? The house sat empty with no heat of any kind for 3 weeks. The stove was closed up but the exhaust and oak were still open to the outside. I should have definitely burned through those pellets though by now, wouldn't it have gone away by now???

Maybe some critter(s) found a warm place to nest - in your piping.

I cleaned out he vent pipe and the oak has a screen (still entact) on it.

Any other ideas of where there could be blockages????

I got all brand new windows and they leak thru the seals so bad Its disgusting

Im probably going to contact the manufacturer cause its bad. You can feel the wind right thru the seals
Absolutely!!!! Something isn't right about that. Hope they take care of it for you. And you can feel the wind through our windows, but they are over 50 years old so I guess I can't expect too much from them.

Overflowing pots, black glass and sides, all point to a bad burn, due to some sort of blockage. The green/blue ash, is just salts in the pellets. What brand are they?

Hamers
What area could I be missing as a source of the blockage??

You did the LBT, perhaps, it's a leaky gasket, check your gaskets.

I wanted to come back and update. I cleaned it out this morning, took off the covers, was able to stick the brush up much further and also banged on the back wall while vacuuming. It is burning a lot better from just watching the glass etc. I'm hoping the house temp will slowly creep up as it runs longer. Its up to 67 and the highest it has been is 66. So small steps :).
