Hope the splits don't skip and slide on these. Anyone use black poly pallets? They won't rot that's for sure.

My neighbor has 6 of those and loves them, they do warp a little if you have a heavy green load on them, but still much better than wood pallets.
Love to get my hands on those but they want green backs for them here. On the other hand just scored a source for those 250gal. bottle cages free- about a face cord fits in each one stacked tightly (44 cu ft, quick tape measurement). Not exactly sure how I will use them yet (I have a feeling if the are out in view with wood in them the city will get its hair all messed up) but I can stack them out of sight in back. Will have to make forks for tractor that replace bucket- don't have quick attach and those that would slip on bucket would reduce lifting power unacceptably. ( got watch out for that front axle)

In general not really. I know one of the guys at the country club near me. They buy pallets of Poland spring water to give to their members. Nestle, which is Poland spring has switched to those poly pallets. They just toss the pallets in a pile and then throw them in a dumpster eventually. I couldn't let that happen to those pallets. I looked up the price. 109 bucks from Uline.

Yup, I am heading over there again soon. It pains me to see such nice pallets meet such a demise. There's some nice blue chep pallets too but no need to take those since I'm mining the gold already.
I use them. Wood may slide a little if they aren't level. But they are sooo worth using. I replaced all my wood pallets with them. Been using them for many years. Just don't step on them with snow on your boots in the winter!! You will go for a ride.
Nice score! I'd love to have some of those. As far as bending under the weight... I'd be happy to scrounge or even buy enough cinder blocks to support them well.

I haven't been able to find any new pallets lately. Something I'm thinking of using instead is to cut some juniper (people round here call it cedar, but that's not what it is), and put one layer of that on the ground and stack the firewood on top. By spacing it out and laying the first layer of firewood perpendicular to the juniper, I could make it go a long way. I have plenty growing on my property. Probably better to wait until the sap has fallen before cutting for that purpose. Wonder if anyone has tried that.
