Probably a hydrostatic drive is a very good idea. You can vary the speed to suit the material. Unless the electric motor types have a variable frequency drive, you're locked in to one speed. Same with the diesel version if it's on a governor.
 
I just thought it was kinda cute. Now if I brought it home and the wife saw it sitting in the garage, that may be a different story.​
