Pelpro TSC90 Error 5

Just picked this up used. Has a new control board. The error 5 indicates a communications issue between the control board and user interface board. Swapped out the Cat 5 cable in between.
Anyone run into this. The user interface board is $252.
Makes me yearn for relays and manual controls.
