Hello all,
I purchased a house this year and it has an 11 year old PF100 which I love to use (love the heat it puts out), but I am having some issues.
Currently, I am getting a lot of smoke during auto light and while running it will seem like it is gasping for air. What I mean by this is, the little door at the bottom of the firedoor will go click click click and the flame will kind of flash. If I open the hopper it will stop doing this. I noticed recently that if I pull the pipe off the inlet on the OAK it also stops the issue from happening. I tested unscrewing the OAK from the exhaust pipe (has a cold air inlet around the same pipe) side but this didn't seem to stop it like taking it off the inlet on the PF100 did.
So it leads me to believe something is wrong with the flex pipe going from the exhaust pipe to the inlet on the PF100.
Some things I did as well was do a cleaning of the exhaust behind the exchanger cover, check down the exhaust pipe itself as well as the cold air inlet around the our edge, clean the burn pot as well as change the igniter (was having an issue where sometimes it would fail to light but would be hot).
Could this inlet hose be an issue for the bends it has? Or is there something else I should check?
Thanks!
