Pile of Elm Should I get it ?

Most of what I burn is elm. Don't waste your time with hand splitting. Once I got five wedges stuck in one piece. Had to cut it out with the chain saw. You will need a hydraulic splitter with some guts. Especially if it is American Elm. That stuff does not split, it tears.
 
I split a big American Elm that will be stove feed this year. I started by hand and that didn't last long. It was half dead and proved it when it came to splittin'. I just split two and half good size Siberians that split like a dream. The other half had been dead for a while...I let you draw the conclusions.
 
I guess I should go n get it:)
U all reminded me there is always more than one way to do it :)
