I cut the pine to lengths tonight so we could start in the a.m. on the milling. The log nearest the stump is a 12 footer and the next one down just over 11 and the third about seven.

The difference in diameter from the big end to the small is about 2-3 inches, is it worth the effort to swing the biggest end down so your starting on the small end going downhill?

Sorry Zap, no clue on which end to start on, but that should make some really nice boards. A C

I would set-up on the log the way it sets and run down hill. 2 inch difference is not enough to move it jmo. If I was going to move them it would be up! ;-)

Smokin, I usually start from the small end but went from the big end, just under the dogs on the rails when finishing. :red:
