i'm going w/ 6 tons of MWP blend from steve this year.
i have near 3 tons of the crabbe left still, so if i need a bit more heat at any point i have those.

but in reality, i think i could do just fine with the blend all year.
my main problem with them was the fly ash building up so fast.
but as i've learned my stove better, i've taken to just scooping the ash out into a metal bucket so i don't have to have down time to vacuum every few days.
the up side with the blend is the fire pot stays absolutely clear.
even though the crabbe burn a bit hotter, they get an ash puck in the fire pot when i burn on high for more than a few hours.
that ends up meaning down time to empty the ash drawer more often.

the local stove shop is supposed to get the crabbe in at a nice low price. but that won't be till the end of summer. and any price increase diminishes what i would save just having steve deliver all 6 tons at once.
getting the crabbe from the local shop would also entail 12 round trips of 1/2 ton loads in the subaru outback.

that is the only option for me beside the tsc in town. and they have comparable mid grade pellets at usually the same or slightly higher price than SIB. and even though it's 10 miles closer than the local stove shop, it's still a huge hassle to do 12 loads in the subie to save only a very small amount after gas and the flat $75 steve charges to bring all 6 tons all the way up here to millinocket and to my pellet bunker hatch.

finally i just said screw it.
i may very well just stick with the mwp blend permanently now.
paying $50 more a ton just isn't worth it for me.
for me, the premium price pellet experiment is officially over.

So, you're saying the Crabbé is about $250 a ton from your local shop?
