Does it matter at what height I place the pellet stove flue cleanout ? Does it need to be near the ground,or can it be up at about 5 feet ?

Any information pertaining to this question would be greatly appreciated.

Your question will probably be answered in the installation manual for the particular stove you want, under the venting instructions. Normally, the clean out is a on tee, so you can run a vent brush into the stove & up the venting, & should be readily accessible.

I guess you can put the clean out where you like.
In most cases, on a vertical install, the clean-out Tee is at the bottom .
Because the most Ash collects there .
Imagine, at 5 feet up, how difficult it will be to clean the bottom section!

As others have indicated, a cleanout is the bottom section of a tee and is located in back of the stove in line with the vent for a chimney heading up from the stove.
