Just spent an hour replacing both the airwash and manifold gaskets on our Napoleon 1400. I had done the airwash once before (when I noticed bits hanging down over the window) but never the manifold (which was non existent today)

Took an hour because I couldn't realign the screw holds on the airwash as they are behind the front to the stove and hard to see. What I finally did was align the gasket and airwash up with the screw holes in the stove by inserting 2" nails through two of the 4 holes and then screwed in the other two screws before removing the nails putting in the other 2 screws.

I "think" the airwash one helps keep the window clean (dry wood + hot stove) but I am not so sure. No idea what the manifold gasket does. Any info on the reasoning is for these gaskets is appreciated. Will I see any improvements this burning season? Thanks in advance!
