Hello all,
I've been looking around the forum and there isn't lots of info on this stove.. I've had a BK for years and wanted sometime non cat. Explain to me how it should run, there's no flames in the box right now and time of smoke out of the top.. Should those things be happening??.. wood is good cause of the BK . Is there just a learning curve, I've had a PE in the past .
Thanks all!!

Bump for the morning crew.. I don't think I have enough piping above the roof.. but it is 16' if I remember..

There's always a learning curve. I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "smoke out of the top"? What does your manual say about chimney height?

A tube stove without flame is not running right unless you're in the coaling stage. Smoke out of the chimney confirms that.

How long has the wood been drying under cover?

Hey, thank you@stoveliker.. I've got multiple thermostats on the bk..I took one and put it on the Quad.. It seems "better" now but there is still some run time issues.. I've seen a couple of folks have this issue.. I'll keep everybody updated for later issues.. Who knows..

Realized I didn't answer your question.. it's been a while under cover and out of the elements.. I can't keep a consistent temp.. think I need more roof pipe?? I'm worried about putting too much wood in for fear of over firing it though..

"A while" isn't specific enough to help.
Also under cover can be bad (a pile on the ground fully covered with a tarp won't dry out the wood).

What is the distance between stove top and chimney cap?

Sorry, I missed you're reply.. so there's a fair amount of smoke that exits the top of the chimney.. I am indeed hoping it's a learning curve..
