Hello,

New member here looking to get some opinions on radiant gas logs. The local dealers to me offer Hargrove radiant gas log sets and RH Peterson Real Fyre radiant gas log sets. Do any members here have any experience with these radiant gas logs? They both look fine to my standards. Just wondering if one is more reliable/long lasting than the other.

Thank you in advance!

Peterson gas logs have been around for many years & are very reliable.
They are (or were anyway) easy to work on, from the service side.
Can't talk to the Hargrove units. Never saw one.
What either of them will do is waste your fuel.
You will probably find that when your log set is burning,
your central heating system will fire up, if it's set on a thermostat.
The exhaust draft for the logs will also pull heated air from the rest
of your home, resulting in a temperature drop.

We bought a Empire Flint Hill Ventless Gas Log Set online and had it hooked up when we purchased the propane tank. We had never burned wood in the fireplace, so it was nice to have a 2nd heat source when needed.
