... To the Husquvarna 555?
The dolmar "strato" is some kind of a reed system from what I understand. Someone else that has one may know more though.Which means... what, exactly?
Here is a thread on "strato" airWhich means... what, exactly?

2258
However to best of my knowledge it has a straight handle as opposed to angled on the Husky and uses small mount bar instead of a large mount on the 555.
Don't own one just going on memory. I've been buying Jonsereds for awhile now and I believe I'm accurate on the above.
Otherwise everything else is identical.
As to the Dolmar 6100 I'm a fan of Dolmar but I thought the 6100 had no auto tune. It's a regular carb. I'm not aware of any Dolmar with self adjusting carb like the auto tune on Husky and Jonsered or Mtronic on Stihl.
What kind of prices are you seeing on 2258 / 555 ? Should be at or well under $600 and inline with the 6100
My 555 has the small bar mount (same as 350 / 346XP, ect)2258

Took a look today at the 2258 . . . I liked it . . . seems like a decent weight. Amish owner said he has had good luck with them and in fact owns this model's pre-cursor. $590 on sale right now with a $100 credit. I still want to stop by and price the Husky 555.

I also forgot to ask if they take in trade ins . . . although I suspect the well worn 350 will not be worth a whole lot.
Thank you ... local Amish shop is selling Jonsereds ... thought I might compare the prices. I know they're wicked cheap when it comes to chains -- $4 to sharpen and $10-$12 for new chains (not sure of the brands.)
I bought a Jonsereds 2165 at Orcutts in Dixmont maybe 5 yrs ago to complement my Husqvarna 51. what a difference, I wish I had purchased a 60 plus cc saw years ago (life is too short). The additional power makes cutting up tree length wood a pleasure now rather than a dreaded chore. I don't care if its heavier it has saved me so much time over a smaller saw...
