I log in and go to the hearth room forum. Threads with new posts are in bold text signifying new posts. When I navigate to the new blaze king forum even though there have been new posts made (in BK everything thread for example) the thread title is not in bold and it won’t take me to the first unread post in that thread. To clarify, That goes for any thread in that specific forum, not just the BK everything thread.

I do get the alert icon lit up in the upper right hand corner of the forum page as I subscribe to that post.

Any ideas?

If you see the filter button in the upper right , that sets the order desecnding or ascending for threads. I can't re-create the bold and not. It is working on mine. I'll look at settings.

I do have it set to descending, if I switch to ascending it brings up threads from ‘05 or so. I’ll clear all my cookies and log in fresh to see if that changes anything. I probably haven’t done that since the forum change. After someone makes a post (shouldn’t take long😂) I’ll report back.

Argh! No bold title for the new post Crummy made. Although I did get the notification!

I checked the software Xenforo community site. A few other sites having similar issue. Though they say it is working as designed. I'll look into an answer.

Isn't that always the case, until they find the bug and fix it - you likely will hear that answer.

Ok I figured it out.

I browse and read the “hearth room” page for any topics I find of interest. When I get to the end of the new posts I hit the “mark read” button so next time I come back the bold text threads will be fresh, since I have marked all read.

It’s probably a glitch, or maybe it’s a setting you can change as webmaster but if you hit mark read button on the hearth room page it marks the sub forums read as well. That’s why I never saw new posts on the BK manufacturer forum. I read the new BK page 2nd after “the hearth room” and I unknowingly cleared fresh posts thinking the only page I’d be clearing was the one I was currently on.
