First off I have no idea what brand/ model this wood stove is, I would like help with that. May help me to figure out what kind of blower I would need and what the other hole is in the rear of the stove. I also was curious if it’s good to just go back to original paint or the shiny new metal before re painting and any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated.

The small hole on the back might have been where a thermostatic snap switch was mounted. Search for wood stove blower on Amazon and see if any of them roughly match the opening size. The rust will need to be removed as best as possible with a wire brush. Then wipe with alcohol and spray with a good stove paint like Stove Brite Satin Black. It will take a couple of cans at least. Follow directions with light coats and do this outdoors. The fumes are potent.

What paint was used? Looks like there may be a gasket channel on the doors. If so, new gaskets should be put in too. I'd also figure out how to put in some full-height (9") firebrick for the sides and back. Is there a baffle in it?

I used Krylon high heat paint and I do have some new bricks for it just waiting to put it in. It does have a baffle
