Reading the threads on the CI2600 and burn times, I've noticed that many mention a restrictor plate that Regency included on units above a certain serial number. I would be very grateful if someone could take a photo of the restrictor plate and describe where it is located. Thanks!

Thanks! I had done quite a bit of searching, but somehow never came across those posts. Needless to say, I suppose my search skills need some improvement. Thanks again.

It's come up a few times before, and I've had a bit of practice. I found the thread by searching for Regency restrictor picture.

Thanks. I appreciate it.

I had a CI2600 installed yesterday (a replacement for a I2450 that was making a loud harmonic noise whenever the wind blew and wasn't corrected by modifying the air intake hole, which was the recommendation from Regency). Much to my dismay, there was a noticeable wind "whistle" when I had the damper closed and no fire going. I remembered the restrictor plate coming up a number of times, but when I searched "Regency CI2600 restrictor plate," I wasn't completely certain where it was. Actually, I knew it's in the front and the references to the "doghouse" seemed obvious, but I wasn't certain. The posts you pointed me to confirmed it. Thanks.

Interestingly, I didn't come across any mention of noise associated with the air intake, only burn times. I adjusted it so it was open about half as much and it eliminated the noise, so I'm pleased. I did a second smallish burn today and it seems to work well.

This forum is a goldmine of information for a newbie like me. I really can't thank the contributors and moderators enough.
