My brother in law is planning to buy a regency f2400. The first floor he is heating is 1000 sq. ft. The whole house is 2800 sq.ft. Will the stove adequately heat at least the ground floor? He plans to burn eighteen hours a day. What other stoves might he look at? He lives in Maine. Has anyone had any experience using the outdoor vent kit? Thanks for all replies and advice.

The F 2400 will heat the first floor pretty good but it is finicky in terms of liking wood that is below 20% moisture. If he wants to heat all 2800 ft he will need an open floor plan with a good way to have the heat flow up stairs but would suggest looking at something with at least a 3 cubic ft fire box.
