Replacement side liners for a 602 CB?

Starting to get excited about burning (but I'm still not done with swimming and crabbing). On the 602, I have a couple of warped side liners. They're a bit (broken link removed), but I guess if I need them, I need them. ATM the biggest problem is that they're encroaching on my already tiny firebox. Is there any alternative material that I can cut to fit? I think these are cast with some insulation behind them. Also, anyone know if I need to disassemble anything to get them out? IIRC, it didn't look like they just hung there like the old 602.

Hi Nola- they are supposed to fit in on the sides. Its usually a bear getting the old ones out- if they come out, the new ones slide in. I agree, they are getting pricey. Keep warm.

The baffle needs to be removed first. While it is out, inspect the baffle too for any cracks or warping.

Do I need to actually disassemble/unscrew anything? I had some pretty lazy secondaries (almost non-existent) last season, which I'm guessing was due to air leaking around the seams of the plenum. Planned on taking it out and cleaning it real well so that the cement might actually stick to it. I guess this is as good a time as any to do a thorough go-through.

Also, as for the original question--is there a replacement material that I can cut to size and use, or am I stuck with OEM parts?

I replaced mine during a complete rebuild. The parts came out and went in pretty easily, but this was on the original 602 and not a 602CB with secondaries. The whole process including drilling out and tapping broken bolts took a couple hours.

Yeah, I removed the panels on my original 602, and they just hung on hooks. Looks a lot more snug on the CB

Hey guys- if you want to remove/replace the top baffle (sec burn chamber), it is screwed into the top of the stove. Was surprised myself replacing side baffles, it turned into a pretty complete breakdown and re-cementing of the stove. That top baffle was no fun. Good luck with her.

Yup, ended up taking everything apart. Wow, what a mess. My secondary burn chamber wasn't in contact with the upper baffle, which is why the secondaries have never worked right on this stove I imagine. Side plates were a bear to get out and were in worse shape than I thought. I'll start a separate thread about the breakdown and post some pics. Found an old thread where precaud used micor for replacement has anyone else tried this? This thing is going to be much nicer when I'm done
