It appears to me the flame sensor could attach to either male or female judging from pictures of a new sp845 unit

Someone appeared to plug the female right into the male and not attach a flame sensor. There is also an open spot at the pilot light that looks like it would fit a flame sensor in it.

Am I looking at this wrong?
