I sealed all my stove pipe joints with cement and was wondering if its a good idea to seal the joint that is attached to the wood stove itself. It has a gap in it and I can see the glow of the fire coming through.Didn't know if I did that, how hard it would be to take back off if I had to.

I recommend that you seal it. I sealed mine and this year I redid my stove pipe. It only took a little wiggle of the pipe to break the cement joint once the screws were out.
Use your finger to work some furnace cement in there to seal the gap. Then wipe with a damp rag to clean up before the cement sets.
Yup. What begreen stated works. Only I use my wife's finger. I tell her the smaller fingers will work better. Seems to work okay.
