Hello- I have finally purchased all the necessary components to connect my wood stove to the chimney and have done so without issue, except the stove is smoking because (I think) of a draft issue. Troubleshooting revealed the bottom of the tee connected directly to the wall thimble does NOT have a cap. Is this the cause of my stove not drafting and having smoke entering the room? Thank you anyone for answering my question. I'm new to a wood burning stove.

That will definitely spoil draft. Putting a cap on the tee before burning again will make a notable improvement.
