Awesome, nice pictures of it. I had some trees taken down at my property recently too. 4 maples. One hanging right over the garage. Good to get them down before winter
hard to believe those are 3 tall ass pin oaks, thought there would be more wood than that lol

Yeah, the rain can hold you up for sure. We have had a couple good productive days for processing, and are well ahead of where we normally are this time of year. We've got approximately 4 cords CSS, pile is 32 feet long, 40 inches deep and 4 to 5 feet tall. All the maples that were cut down late September are in the pile. Post up a pic once you get your split!

By the way I have since tied the tarps down with black paracord, I love that stuff and bought some in bulk off Amazon years ago. I know the Army loves that stuff too. It holds up well out in the weather if you want to bother tying down your tarps. Mine will stay stacked for 2-3 years before I burn, so I figure it might as well look pretty while it's sitting there.
I dont split that small maybe i should try it out and see how that works for me lol. Does look nicely stacked tho

it just makes a whole lot of coal lol, but it does burn nice and hot. Yeah the shed is empty lol. Imma have to buy some wood for this season

Once you split it you'll be surprised how much wood is there. The picture below was a total of 5 trees with tops and netted me about 6 cords. I always under estimate but according to the calculator it's 6 cords at 32' but that is where it starts to slope down

That stack was done with the splitter, We split about 3 cords in 6 hours before I bought the splitter. He swung the friskars I swung the 8# maul. The day we split by hand anything smaller than 18" and straight was fair game. After splitting that much by hand I decided we would both benefit from a splitter and did all that in the pictures with the splitter. Actually broke it in on that stack, The time it took to do that and split by hand was night and day. If I were only do a small amount then by hand would be fine but doing that much at one time wouldn't be physically possible for a 65 year old with bad shoulders and a 32 year old "Strong as a mule" according to my grandfather.
That splitter will definitely save our bodies, neither of us could barely move the next 3 days of splitting 6 hours straight.

I would be now too. I like to split by hand but the amount I need a year and the time it takes to split it all by hand I can't do it. I don't have enough time in the year to get everything done that I need to get done. A couple years from now when I'm done remodeling my house I will probably go back to splitting by hand but until then my splitter will be getting worked pretty good.

In the process of plannimg out a new shed, bigger shed this time. This one is 4 feet deep 12 feet wide 6 feet high front and 5 feet high back, I pitched it a foot, not sure I'm using the pitch term correctly lol. Think it should hold at least a cord and a half maybe?
